Submerged in the depths

Small text written for an english class that I thought could fit for a small article (:

All around it was blue. Two shades of blue : dark, and light, separated by the horizon line. My brother and I are lost in the middle of nowhere with only the burning sun to guide us.
Pilly broke the silence and said : "The treasure map leads to a small unidentified island eastwards. Only one day left Billy !".
Pilly and I had been exploring the world in this boat since we were children. We knew the oceans like nobody. Pilly was the sailor. Small but witty, he always managed to find the correct direction.
Usually, Pilly could sense bad weather before it happened. But this time, it was different. Suddenly, a storm broke out. In a matter of seconds, paradise turned to hell. The sky was crowded with dark clouds and lightning was continuously striking, as if God was playing with a light switch.
As if the situation was not bad enough, a gigantic and monstrous squid emerged from the depths of the ocean. Is it the type of punishment Satan sends for swearing ? The Kraken, seriously ? Paralysed with fear, I didn't move and fixed it in the eyes. Those were not the eyes of somebody telling you they cooked a chocolate cake. No, it was more like : "I'll devour you and shred your intestines until I can throw away your washed bones one by one.".
While I was fixing him, five of his thick tentacles came out of the water to grab me. I couldn't do anything, and he dragged me into the depths of the ocean. Then I heard a shot. I could feel the Kraken was hurt, as he suddenly released me. I thought : "Did he really think one could sink Billy the invincible in the deep sea this easily ?", before fainting.
When I woke up, I was floating. The weather was calm again. Far away, I saw an island, weirdly shaped like a belly, with our boat moored on it. Maybe my brother escaped and couldn't find me ? Maybe this is the island we were searching for for the last 2 months ?

Suddenly, the door opened and mum said : "You two have been in the bath for an hour long, it's time to eat !". "Yes mummy", we answered as she closed the door. I watched my brother and we continued the story. Neither a Kraken nor mum can stop Billy the invincible.
